The world knows of the bravery and dedication the men and women of the New York City Police Department and sister Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the USA have displayed during and after the tragic events of 9/11. At a time when our city needed them the most, these professionals gave their all to keep us safe, maintain order, search for survivors, and keep our city functioning in the the face of an almost unimaginable horror. |
| |
| Now, many of them are bravely facing yet another crisis. A majority of responders who were exposed to the harmful toxic environment that was caused from the collapse of the towers as a result of a terrorist crimminal act are now experiencing a wide range of illnesses, from Upper & Lower Airway disease, RADS, a lowered immune system that has crashed, sarcoidosis (a permanent lung condition) also with gastroesophageal disease, Vestibular dysfunction (brain damage), PTSD, ADD, depression, fatigue, panic attacks, migraines, vertigo, myofascial pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic myalgia, chronic sinus dysfunction and other cancerous diseases.
Although, we are suffering with serious First Responder health conditions our goal is to provide support, education, and other forms of charitable relief to Law Enforcement Officers who sustained injury or disability relative to the attacks of September 11, 2001. |

Message from the President Mike Valentin
Thank You
September 15, 2009 by 911PAF
The 9/11 Police Aid Foundation would like to express deepest thanks and appreciation to the following:
Treg Hopkins, who assisted us in obtaining a campsite and also helped organize.
Terry Hopkins who organized the event. Of course, it wouldn't have been complete without the help of an amazing Chef !!! Thanks Katrinka!
Mark and Dawn Hayden for their amazing loving support and always being there for us. They supplied the P.A. System and have a band called Back Draft which played a tribute to us.
Mark's brother, Red Hayden, for his amazing support of this foundation. He created the Dixie Chopper Company.
Mindy Nordmeyer who is the owner of Gypsy's Salon and Spa. She tirelessly organized and ran a silent auction. Our deepest sympathy is expressed to her and her family since her nephew, Cpl. Zachary Nordmeyer ,U.S army, passed away on 02/23/09 due to being killed in action in Baled, Iraq.
Also thank the following police officers:
State Trooper Heath Kerns who stayed with us till the end.
Putnam County Sheriff Steve Fenwick.
Lieutenant Rick Kiefer who is the master instructor at Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
An extended warm thank you to all participants with the auction and all the kind residents from the Roachdale community.
We'd also like to thank:
Cindy Harris, the General Manager of Hampton Inn located in Peoria, Illinois.
Jeanie Weed, mother of Cindy Harris, who is from Michigan.
Jody Owen, Director of Sales
J.Rick Swan, Executive Director, Chamber of Commerce, Peoria, Ill.
Michelle D. Weghorst, Illinois Central College.
Sgt Jeff Knight, East Peoria P.D.,East Peoria, Ill.
and Mayor Dave Mingus.
Our gratitude goes out to the heartland of America and the people who have not forgotten us or 9/11. |
