Far Cry 6 Beginner’s Guide, Tips and Tricks
The open world gameplay of Far cry 6 isn’t much different from its predecessors, but there’s a lot of new stuff to explore. There are a handful of systems in the latest game that newcomers and veterans alike should be aware of.
In this Far cry 6 beginner’s guide, we will give you tips and tricks to become the best guerrilla you can be. This guide will walk you through weapon modifications, why you should use different Supremos and Resolver weapons, how to use your Amigos, and exploration strategies.
How to change your rate of fire
While firearms like shotguns and sniper rifles have predictable rates of fire, other guns can change the number of bullets they fire with each pull of the trigger. Knowing how to change your rate of fire can dramatically alter the way some guns behave, allowing you to tweak them to suit your preferences.
To change your rate of fire, raise your weapon wheel. When you highlight some weapons, like guns, you will see a white button prompt in the center of the screen under the type of ammunition. Press the button or the highlighted key to cycle through the different rates of fire available for that weapon. For example, some rifles have the ability to fire a single bullet, a burst of three, or convert to fully automatic fire with each pull of the trigger.
How to get more Supremo and Resolver weapons
Supremo and Resolver weapons can give you the advantage in battle. However, unlike the other guns you find scattered throughout Yara, these two types of weapons aren’t as easy to find.
As part of the game’s progression system, you must rank up to unlock new Supremo and Resolver weapons. By completing missions, you gain experience points that contribute to your character’s rank. With each new level, you gain the opportunity to craft a new set of Supremo and Resolver weapons.
Unlike other games which give you new abilities and powers as you level up, Far cry 6 gives you access to new Supremo and Resolver weapons to increase your power. To craft new Supremo and Resolver weapons, you must either visit Juan at your main base or locate one of his arms dealers in one of your liberated bases. These powerful weapons require large chunks of depleted uranium to craft that you get for completing important missions.
Don’t forget your Amigos and their abilities
Amigos in Far cry 6 are animal companions that help you in battle. Each specializes in a unique way. So as you recruit more, you can use them in different scenarios.
While each Amigo has immediate use in combat, they can also acquire abilities over time. Most of their new talents are passively unlocked as you use them, while others require your contribution.
For example, your first Amigo, Guapo, can gain his first ability after reviving five times, while his third ability requires you to order him to take down 50 targets.
Each Amigo has different requirements to unlock new abilities. You can check their progress by going to your main menu> Amigos menu> highlight the companion you want to inspect> then press the Details button. In this menu, you can learn more about the main talents of each Amigo as well as the requirements and progress to unlock their three additional abilities.
Follow the smoke to steal supply drops
Navigating through Far cry 6the paradise island of Yara, you might see smoke on the horizon. If you come across swirls of orange and yellow smoke, head towards it. You will be rewarded.
Where there is smoke, there is a Decrease in supply you can fly. These resource containers drop at random, but you can also learn more through notes found in the game or through word of mouth. Either way, Supply Drops are a great way to stack crafting resources with little effort.
If you come across a random supply drop, there’s a good chance it won’t be watched. In this case, loot it freely. If you’re looking to get a Supply Drop that you learned about from a note or another character, you may have to fight for resources. Some supplies are located on small bases, while others could be in the process of being dropped somewhere on the island. In the latter case, you’ll have to run to secure the loot before enemy forces take it for themselves.
Talk to those you save
Whenever you free a base or checkpoint, Libertad’s friendly forces take control of those locations. Not only do these areas become fast travel points and areas where you can drop vehicles, but you can also find missions there.
As you walk through a newly liberated area, pay attention to the friendly forces that occupy your surroundings. Often they will call you. Listen to them. These characters will indicate to you a drop in supply or a side mission in which you can participate. It’s always worth paying attention, as the short missions they offer are a great way to gather more crafting resources or missions to help you rank up.
Build your camp
One of the first camps you can build in Far cry 6 is the base of Montero Farms. Building new facilities on a camp like this grants you access to new items, abilities, and access to gameplay elements like fishing.
To start building your camp, talk to a foreman to display the build desktop menu.
Camp facilities unlock new aspects of the game, and you can upgrade them to further improve what you can do in Far cry 6. You can build the following facilities in camps:
- The Network of hiding places instantly unlocks the Combination and allows you to purchase Hideout locations to set up Quick Travel Points.
- A Guerrilla garrison places Recognition laptops points of view to help you spot enemy bases better.
- To create a Fishing hut unlock fishing spots where … you guessed it: you can go fishing.
- Establishment The cafeteria allows you to swap meat to create meals that grant temporary buffs.
- Bandidos barracks give you the opportunity to recruit recruits for Bandido operations that passively help you gain resources.
- The hunterthe lodge unlocks hunting grounds and opens a shop specially designed for hunt.
As you build new facilities, you can talk to the foreman to further upgrade those buildings and unlock more upgrades and perks. For example, upgrades to your Hideout Network will eventually allow you to spawn new vehicles in these smaller bases or give you the option to reload your Supremo weapons upon entering.
