Government allocates Rs 500 million for creation of 4 knowledge parks – Latest News – The Nation
ISLAMABAD- The federal government has allocated Rs 500 million for the establishment of four knowledge parks across the country in the current financial year. The government had allocated Rs 6330.696 million in the PSDP for the financial year 2022-23 for ongoing and new projects of the Information Technology and Telecommunications Division. According to the details, 5,380.696 million rupees had been allocated for 31 ongoing programs, while the allocation for five new programs was 950 million rupees.
Among the ongoing programs, Rs 719 million has been allocated for Islamabad Technology Park Development Project, Rs 320 million for High Impact Skill Bootcamp Islamabad and Karachi, and Rs 300 million each for Pak-China Phase Project Protection and Modernization -I OFC for establishment of AJK and GB Cross-Border Connectivity Project, upgrade existing TDM-based microwave backhaul network with IP-based microwave backhaul network in AJK and GB (SCO) and upgrade of the transmission network and replacement of the fiber optic cable in AJK and GB. The new program allocation included Rs 500 million for the establishment of four knowledge parks, Rs 250 million for the expansion of GPON FTTH service in new and existing towns and Rs 100 million for the economy improvement project digital.
