  • Evaluate each call situation to determine the best course of action and appropriate protocol.
  • Uses medical equipment and procedures, including a defibrillator, ECG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, intravenous fluids, CPR, and other procedures and medications needed to provide advanced medical care.

Normal working days / hours: varies. Come join the largest and busiest fire department / EMS in the metro.

Responsible for all patient care (advanced and basic) in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, statutes and protocols.

Completes all applicable patient care reports and provides direction to other team members as needed.

Acts as a first responder in the areas of fire protection, rescue services and hazardous materials response, as well as aircraft firefighting and emergencies.

Responds to fire calls and other medical and non-medical emergencies.

Works as a firefighter and performs all assigned duties related to this assignment. Also functions as a paramedic and provides care and / or transportation as prescribed by procedures prescribed by the Director of Emergency Medical Services.

Medical and Security Inc


Medical and Safety, Inc serves all venues for different types of events. Some of our EMTs are full time and some are part time. You can create your own schedule for the events you want to work on.

We are immediately filling positions for the Long Beach Convention Center. This location manages 2 EMTs 24 hours a day. The hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Starting in July, we are filling positions for the Orange County Fair Park. This will take place every day from July 16 to August 15

from July 28 will be the Rams Camp at the UCI.

We also organize various weekly events. Once on board you can log into our system through When2Work and place yourself for different events.

Paramedic OR Nurse – LPN, LVN or RN

1. Fosters positive client relationships with all donors.
2. Conduct confidential and effective interviews with donors to obtain the necessary information regarding fitness to donate plasma.
3. In collaboration with the center medical director and / or center physician, responds to medical questions from staff, including donor suitability, and provides information to staff on medical issues.
4. Performs medical history reviews and donor health assessments. Evaluates the results of donor screening and laboratory tests to determine initial and ongoing donor suitability.
5. Informs and advises donors on the results of reactive tests. Refer donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling.
6. Explains informed consent to prospective donors. This includes explaining the procedures, hazards and potential adverse events; explanation of vaccination schedules, dose and antibody response; clearly offer the donor the option to decline to participate; obtaining the signature and the date certifying informed consent.
7. Manages medical emergencies at the Center by providing routine care as described in standard operating procedures (SOP); escalate situations to the center physician or local medical service providers as needed. Periodically checks emergency kits to ensure supplies are present and up to date.
8. Reviews the test results and determines the continued fitness of the donor. Tracks SOPs for acceptable ranges of required test reports (PE / STS) over four months. Maintains knowledge and applies all rules regarding four month approvals and grace periods.
