QU, RBAT join forces to collaborate in research, knowledge transfer
Qatar University College of Engineering (QU-CENG) and Rheinmetall Barzan Advanced Technologies (RBAT) have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish collaboration in the field of research consultancy and knowledge transfer.
The MoU was signed by Dr Omar Al-Ansari, Vice President of Academic Affairs at QU and Andre Conradie, Managing Director of Rheinmetall Barzan Advanced Technologies in the presence of officials from both institutions.
QU is keen to promote and improve relations with RBAT to establish joint cooperation covering different fields, scientific, administrative, technical and research. It aims to establish a collaboration between QU and RBAT in the academic fields, research, training and student support, as well as the exchange of information and advice.
Under the terms of the MoU, QU-CENG will provide RBAT with advice and workshops covering different areas. The QU-CENG faculty will also support RBAT projects by ensuring the transfer of knowledge and the progressive development of existing projects.
Commenting on the MoU, the Dean of QU-CENG, Dr Khalid Kamal Naji, said: “The MoU highlights the continued efforts of QU-CENG to provide solutions to local challenges, in line with national priorities towards a knowledge-based economy. It will also serve to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology and to provide consultancy and research services, which will help boost socio-economic development and sustainability in the State of Qatar.
In this context, Mr. André Conradie, CEO of RBAT declared: “This memorandum of understanding will support the establishment of new relations towards a fruitful cooperation between RBAT and QU, the main national edifice in the field of academic excellence and of research “.
He added: “We hope that this memorandum will be a way for further cooperation and integration with Qatar University College of Engineering, besides developing student skills which are the main element of success. long-term development plans in support of the achievement of the Qatar National Vision 2030. ”
RBAT provides cutting-edge technologies and innovative military-grade solutions in the areas of command and control developed by Qatar, as well as autonomous systems in addition to critical infrastructure protection and live military training.
