Sheriff’s office receives subsidy for road safety

Sandusky County Sheriff Christopher J. Hilton announced that the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s (OTSO) Ohio Highway Safety Bureau (OTSO) has awarded $ 42,476.96 in funding Federal Highway Safety in Sandusky County for Federal Fiscal Year 2022.

Sandusky County has identified that the importance of seatbelt wear, speed awareness and enforcement of the impaired driving law affects the safety and well-being of drivers. citizens of Sandusky County.

To save lives and improve the quality of life for our citizens, the Sheriff’s Office will use grant funds to schedule overtime to promote driver safety, as well as educate other vehicles on the roads. The assistants assigned to overtime duties will work in different shifts during Fiscal Year 2022.

Funds are channeled through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s OTSO to support the efforts of safety partners statewide and focus on priority areas of road safety such as use of restraint, driving impaired driving, speed awareness, motorcycle safety, young drivers and distracted driving.

Bradner American Legion offers oven-baked steak dinner
