This role is responsible for building a strong team that reflects the needs of the community, leading business development and community engagement efforts, and ensuring the achievement of branch and sales, service and profitability. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Community engagement and business development
Create and deploy business development and community engagement action plans that lead to the achievement of branch objectives.
Maintain relationships with local businesses and community organizations, identify and support initiatives, events and community needs.
Provide insight into how our operations and product offerings can meet the needs of the community, and how we can increase our engagement and impact within the community.

Member experience and sales

Develop and deploy action plans for branches that lead to the achievement of sales, service and profitability objectives.
Create a culture in which branch staff embrace Verity’s values ​​and experience standards, successfully discover member needs, and build trusting relationships with members and the community.

Build and develop teams

Develop and empower a team that can successfully improve the financial lives of members as the community branch manager pursues outside relationships and initiatives.
Recruit, hire, onboard and develop branch team members who are motivated, resourceful and able to deliver results consistently.
Hold regular team and one-on-one meetings, coach staff towards professional growth goals, write and deliver timely performance reviews, and effectively resolve staff issues.

Risk management

Maintain quality branch operations and effectively control risk while meeting service and growth goals.
Demonstrate effective risk-based decision making that mitigates controllable losses.
Perform other work related duties as assigned.

Work conditions

Attending work during regular business hours is a requirement of this position
Some work, meetings and events outside of working hours and off-site will be required

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired
Experience in a financial institution or related experience highly desirable
Supervisory experience is strongly preferred
Experience in business development desired
Community development experience appreciated

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong networking and relationship building skills
Basic knowledge of financial statements and other reports of credit unions
Attention to detail and good organizational skills
Talents for problem solving
Ability to motivate and lead colleagues
Knowledge of financial sector regulations and standards
Ability to analyze and resolve employee relationship conflicts
Knowledge of loan policies and procedures and the fundamentals of loan concepts
Creation and management of annual budgets
