Goal:
• Provide professional workforce development services / consultations to external stakeholders on behalf of the City of Sault Ste. Marie, Community Development and Business Services.
• Carry out a wide range of activities aimed at attracting talent to Sault Ste. Marie in collaboration with local actors.

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Understand and work towards the goals and objectives of Sault Ste. Marie – Strategy of retention, recruitment, repatriation (R3).
• Plan, manage and implement workforce development initiatives and awareness programs.
• Collaborate with employers, post-secondary institutions, community organizations, Aboriginal employment service providers and immigrant serving organizations to support workforce development initiatives.
• Evaluate and document the workforce development, activities and support systems of Aboriginal and immigration in Sault Ste. Marry the organizations and determine the gaps.
• Identify, develop and maintain workforce development partnerships and networks with employers, educational institutions, DSSAB, Indigenous employment service providers, immigrant serving organizations and communities. ‘other stakeholders.
• Assess the staffing needs of companies and monitor the placement and retention results of program participants.
• Prepare a talent pool that will serve the community in the future and improve the retention of professionals attracted to the community.
• Lead and coordinate various events; for example, Sault Network Communications and Events, Sault Summit, etc.
• Oversee the administration and coordination of the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program (RNIPP).
• Maintain and regularly update various job posting websites.
• Identify, plan and execute training programs for capacity development and help employers meet the challenges of vacant positions.
• Lead and maintain the Spouse Recruitment Advisory Committee.
• Find and target qualified candidates for difficult-to-fill positions on behalf of local employers, as needed.
• Maintain in-depth working knowledge of City health and safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• University degree in a related field of study; for example, business, human resources or community development, etc.
• A college diploma in a related field of study, with related experience, will be considered.
• Computer skills in a Microsoft environment; including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
• Five years of related professional experience; for example, the role of recruiting and / or attracting immigration.
• Knowledge and understanding of:

• Possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to think strategically and creatively.

• Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills.
• Organize time and tasks, meet deadlines and ensure accuracy, in a fast paced environment.
